i think it looks great

Jaba you asked here it is. Yup your correct its sorta not working. the two little quilts sounds good but WHAT if you did one with only the teal and one with only the pink and added a block of solid of another third color you like, use that to do the small sash.. and add another bigger sash of one of the two you have and do as you suggested to me, save the border for another project. BUT this way you get two big quilts will still get the irish chain affect to some extent just not the crossing over of another chain.. it would work totally. Boy its hard to admit I was wrong .. crud I hate that! mine might all in the boat of what contrast the darker color works great but one set of those hst's is sorta just sitting there not popping. JUDY next time stop being so nice lol KIDDING you can hit me over the head with a honey NO anytime you think its necessary. Better earlier being whacked upside the head than standing back and saying oh H...l no a day late kinda thing. its ok to say that with me HONESTLY. even if you think you have to send a private PM really. so Jan maybe we can interchange some of our blocks and it will work! darn didnt think so but I also have lots of two fabrics left so I can add that solid block if I need to and I have a solid alternate that would work too! yipppeee. sewing this afternoon and we will find out for sure. crossing fingers. And thanks for being brave enough to post Jan. I know it was the last thing you wanted to do. :( what the heck they serve cocktails in this train car who is pouring? And you have another one you made too where is that one? are you thinking you will like it at all? I sure hope so Jaba.

Jaba, I think the center of the quilt will be fine when it's stitched together, but that border isn't doing it for me on that quilt. Can you post with a narrow dark strip, then a less colorful border. I wouldn't do any thing to break the Irish chains - that's where the continuity comes in.

that is what I am trying to decide.....which color (light/dark) for the stopper border.....the design needs its' stopper border, most do benifit from one or even two. This is so much fun !!!!

I agree with you. I would go with a dark stopper border that would match the chain pieces and would give that quilt top a frame.

I like it Jaba, but seeing it in person and seeing it on the computer are tow different things, besides I am going crosseyed looking at sewing projects!

I agree with the comment, put it away for a while then when you get it back out you might like it better or at least want to finish it to give to a charity.

I also like the diagonal border but I will put a solid one after it. Can't wait to see more!

jaba, finish it. you picked out the colors, and they went together when you had them laying on the table. once it's quilted and finished, you will like it again. that happens soo much to me.

i just took mine to the quilters. and offered it to the local high school robotics team for a raffle quilt. i told them if they raffled it, they could have it, but not to auction. don't know how raffles work, or if they can pull it off.

I'm still not feeling it at all and sadly not the other one either. My hubby saw it last night and he kind of looked at me like I had gone completely bonkers. He knows me too well!! I like things to blend more and sort of be at peace I guess. I'm just going to make them up for donation , I really am behind on that this year anyway, usually send about 20 - 24 a year to "Quilts for Kids" and have only sent 13. Maybe that's what my mind was trying to tell me, lordy who knows. It was still fun and I'll do it again when the next train is ready to board, you can't get rid of me that easy :). Plus I'll feel better that 4 more kids will have a quilt.
