I don't think a thousand stitches gets a quilt done. At 12 to an inch, that's only 83 inches. I know I sewed more than that starting a baby quilt today. I feel like a ripped out that many - I guess I did - one 42 inch strip was wrong side out and a few other do overs added up quickly. The quilt looks like it will be cute, but I want to work on my red and black mystery.

I realize that I am very fortunate to have a husband who quilts with me. We have a goal this year of supplying 15 quilts backed with fleece for our daughter's kindergarten class. They are supposed to take little naps in the afternoon and she has limited success getting them to lay down. I figure with a cozy quilt and her soft music she will have 100% compliance. This mystery quilt sounds like the right size and it will be fun to do with him. We love to do them together and mystery quilts are the most fun. I must admit I am puzzled about the mention of food on a train but I figure I will catch on.
