Does anyone have any tips for sewing the strips together? Trial and error is not working out for me. LOL I'm going to end up with a frayed ragged mess if I don't figure it out soon.

On the wrong side, draw your 1/4" seam line lightly. Do this on both strips. Match up the lines and you shouldn't have a problem.

That butteryfly quilt is way too cute. It will be loved to death :)

Jaba what great quilts your going to end up with. here i am two weeks behind and not moving faster and you are all caught up with TWO of them. Wow. amazing as always.

Thank you guys for continually posting. INspiration inspiration. Has that red/white combo come back up here with the strips yet? I am just anxious about cutting the long strips. I really am good at messing long pieces up by a fraction of an inch even though I follow with the omni ruler. it slips slightly or I slip off the line. so maybe in a couple days I can get to it and do ok! yes I will do ok! (in theory).

Mary, that's a nice thought but it's 130 miles. I'm in Chippewa Falls. :(

I'm a tad antsy about doing the long strips, too, especially after doing the 9 patches and have them be ever so slightly off. And 9 patches are my fav. So I've even been cleaning house to avoid sewing the strips. Won't the strips have the "dreaded bow" if we start them from the same end or am I just being a wimp?

I like to press the fabric well (using mary ellens, spray or more recently the homemade version) before cuttng the strips and then they stay together nicely when being sewn together.....I try to resist the temptation to sew fast like when doing curtains because the narrow stips of fabric do not favor that treatment (sorry jellyrollrace fans)
