Here is my July block.
I really like it with the black background, though I haven't used it for any of the other blocks. Might have to make another one with a lite background, will have to wait and see.

fun2quilt, that is so awesome! I love the black.

cooper 07-06-2010 03:29 PM

where does one get the bom pattern?

brushandthimble 07-06-2010 03:53 PM

http://www.quilterscache.com/B/BirdofParadiseBlock.html

hope the attached works. if not go to BOM on the bottom of the page, look for 2010 BOM
Each month has two links, one for information and the link to the pattern, the second link for each month will state pictures.

Hope that helps, look forward to seeing your blocks.

here is my July block. i'll do it again later in a different color set to make it more like a flower. this rendition goes into a patriotic quilt i'm working on.

brushandthimble 07-07-2010 03:56 AM

beautiful!

A perfect example of how color placement changes the whole look of a block.

You're right, brushandthimble, the colour placement really changes things. Nice blocks, everyone.

Looking at Patrice's makes me think of the 54 40 or fight block.

MISHNJIM 07-07-2010 02:06 PM

franie 07-07-2010 02:07 PM

Here'a a picture of my July BOM. Had fun with this...I drew it in EQ6 and then paper pieced it.

bearisgray 07-07-2010 02:27 PM

It always amazes me how different the "same" block looks when made with different fabrics.

I like them all.

zz-pd 07-08-2010 05:56 AM

That is a beautiful block, I might have to try this one :D . God bless. Penny

Donna I just love your quilt. I think this is the first time anyone has shown one of the blocks done in a full quilt. Gorgeous !!! Purple being my favorite color doesn't have anything to do with it either LOL Thanks for sharing

cooper 07-09-2010 05:03 PM

the border is really awesome a well!
great choices!

MISHNJIM 07-09-2010 05:59 PM

LOVING IT!!!!! How did you do the border??

Donna P 07-09-2010 07:33 PM

I just used a lunch plate and made a circle sewed around the circle and then cut in half turned right right out and then sewed them on the binding alternating each color....easy as pie. Thank you for all the nice compliments

Donna
