BonnieFeltz: I love your block!!

Thanks. I haven't finished it yet. It's a good thing that I'm starting this, my sewing machine just broke so it gives e little time to now try and do it. I'm not good at applique so I'm looking forward to this to help improve. I've already had to recut some things. LOL.

I am so glad I fell upon your BOM. I am going to do mine in wool and cotton - with wool as the main fabrics and just cotton as occasional print. Possibly some velvet as well. I dye my own wool now - so I have a stash just waiting for something like this. Can't wait! I just printed out the pattern so I will have to catch up quickly. Man - starting with the center is a bit daunting!

Thank you so much!

Roxanne

PokerDiva - I hear you lady! When I post my Farmer's Wife Quilt blocks I hate seeing them so close up when I scan them in for teh photos. This is much much better. No close ups for me!

Purchase them a Staples, 1 pack will last you a lifetime, they are usually used to reinforce loose leaf pages.

Put the circle on the wrong side of the fabric, it will stick, then place the fabric on the background, pin through the small hole in the center to keep it in place.

Clip every 1/8" around the circle to within 2 or 3 threads of the paper and you will find that it turns under easily. Take very fine and close stitches around and you will have a perfect circle.

You can stuff the berries if you want dimension, simply cut a piece of batting, smaller than the circle size and put it under the motif and then stitch.

Hope this helps

Okay I'm sure this is really dumb. But do you remove the hole reinforcements?

I love all the blocks posted. I did mine yesterday did machine applique...I really wanted to try hand applique but I'm so involved with so many BOM's just no time.
Not the best photo but my colors in the flowers are deep reds and yellows.

Rox,,l don't bother, they are so thin &have found they will not impact the feel of the quilt. You can if you want, about half way around, just pull them out.
