Trust me he is right on top of things when it comes to inspecting... :D :D :D :D

JENNIKY Love your quilt inspector, looks like he's doing a great job. LOL

All the choices people are making are just beautiful, I hope to find my fabric choices soon. Am saving the iinstructions just in case. Cant wait to see them completed bet they will all be fantastic.

Jenniky: your JR is adorable!! My quilt inspector (Sydney) is quite a bit taller and weighs in at 40 lbs. She often sits right next to my sewing chair and I practically trip over her to use the iron! I used to use the floor of my sewing room as my "design wall," and there she would sit, right on top of everything. Those days are over for Sydney--just got a wonderful design wall that rolls up when not in use into an Oak frame, high above the floor! Can't wait till DH attaches it to the wall so I can finally put all my blocks and WIP up so I can see them better!

I have my fabrics chosen for this Mystery Train but haven't started cutting as yet. We were gone for the last two weeks, camping with family and our BFFs in Northern Cali. Home now, for most of June, but have a lot of clean-up of RV and neglected house, laundry etc that needs to be done first before I get to any sewing. (boo! would rather sew, of course!)

Probably won't get to any sewing for another week or so.
Long story short I am having outpatient surgery tomorrow to remove a cyst on my ovary laproscopically. Doctor's pretty certain it is only liquid filled (blood test came back normal-yeah) and recovery shouldn't be as bad as when I had a partial hysterectomy 24 yrs ago. Just not sure how long it will be before I feel like sewing;might be able to do some cutting sooner.
I know I will at least be checking in and reading all my threads!

(PS don't know why I can't get the last paragraph to print correctly-must be a QB glich!)

Karen, if you do the rotary cutting before you go in you can sew when you feel up to it.....you will be able to sew long before you will be able to rotary cut (trust me)................wish we lived closer, I could help you.....do you have quilter friends that live close ? My Nephew and his Wife and family are in San Marcos, which is why my DD took me visiting there last week, but they are not quilters (yet). Holding good thoughts and prayers, especially tomarrow !

Di, don't look for the WOW. I haven't been to the QS I purchased it from yet. Melissa is good about restocking or ordering. She ordered a full bolt of a fabric when I needed a half yard. I have to be out that way later this week.

The completed HSTs are looking good. I pressed my fabrics this morning and discovered the print in the featured fabric has very large words. At first I thought I couldn't cut it, but I've decided to use it for the colors and ignore the words. I have found a use for my purple - Foxflower, you are correct - it's the unknown with our favored fabrics that make them hard to cut. I picked up another print with purple and I'm going to make a quilt for my bed in Warm Wishes - quick and large enough pieces to see those two fabrics. I want quick and easy on my bed because it's home to two dogs - one medium and one large, so I don't want too many hours in a quilt that has to be washed constantly.

Off to have some rhubarb tea and go buy more annuals. Those are addicting, too.

Luannh are you enjoying your ride in the observation car.. don't forget to visit the club car also and join us for drinks and snacks. :D

Karen I hope your surgery goes well... Its always hard to know how our bodies will recover. Sydney sounds like an excellent quilt inspector also. Our animals are so special. I keep promising JR I will get around to making him a bed.. have the pattern just have sew many other projects I get more excited about.. LOL. Isn't camping fun.. hope you had an enjoyable rest and relaxation with your friends.

Hi, everybody - checking in to say I'm sorry I've been so absent on this train ride so far, but reading up on all that has happened yesterday and the day before, you all seem to be gettting along just fine. All the 1/2 sq triangle blocks look great! I should be up and running at full speed in a few more days.

Now to decide on fabrics D and E!

Hello. I would like to jump on this train, too, if I may. I haven't done a mystery quilt, but have followed others who were doing one on Bonnie Hunter's site. I just didn't want to tackle a bed-sized one. However, I can handle a small one. I have one baby quilt top done and have come up with a quilting design so I need to get that finished. Then I have one more baby quilt to make for a little guy who is about two weeks old. After that, I'm open, except for all the IMH (in my head) things I want to do, until August, when another little boy is due. I think that's the end of friends having babies, for now. I've will have done six of them in about a year. It's been a regular population explosion!

I know I'm late getting started, but hopefully can work everything in as I go along. I've read 24 of the 48 pages of the thread and will finish all of that before I start, except that I'll look through my stash this evening. I've been wanting to make a Fourth of July wallhanging (is that one word or two?) and I know I have several patriotic fabrics but not sure about values and prints. If that doesn't work, I can do Christmas. I could also do a fall one because I have alot of fall fabrics, but I have something specific IMH for those. I also like the idea of a scrappy, though. Yikes - too many choices!!!

As for food, I can contribute 7 Layer Mexican Dip and chips, if no one has done it. Even if they have, you can't have too much!

I'm looking forward to reading through the rest of the posts and getting started! Happy Sewing
Anne P

Welcome aboard Anne P! 7 layer Mexican Dip will do just fine with the Chianti I just put there. I've been busy teaching the boys to quilt all weekend & still haven't done my HST! I'll get to them first thing in the morning, tho. Grab some fabric & jump on board...all are welcome!
