Bev - saw on the morning news about all the snow in Texas!!! It is like Southern CA - we have no snow blowing equipment here either - has not snowed where I live since 1949! We would be at a standstill also if we got another snow.

Woke up to a white world. It was really accumulate sleet, but it looked like snow. Too icy to go anywhere so I will be sewing grandgirls' backpacks today. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/tongue.png

Here is a Mystery Quilt from Quilters Club of America started in March 30, 2012! It was called Bittersweet and was a Mystery Quilt Pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Co. I got it sandwiched before I started the Grassy Creek Quilt I posted earlier. I finished quilting it and getting the binding on this past weekend. I can tell you my piecing skills have certainly improved over the years!! The binding are a little wavy, etc. Anyway, I love the fabric - Aubrey Rose by Benartex. Glad I stapled the label on the pattern page so I would remember what it was! LOL

Jeanie a great finish!! I hope to be crossing some flimsies off my list this year too!!

It's beautiful, Jeanie. I've made that pattern a few times. I know it a Arkansas Crossroads. Love it in the fabrics you used. Mine are usually just scrappy.
Well, we made it through the day without losing power. Hooray! There is "snow" on the ground, but it's really frozen sleet and too dry to stick to our tree branches. So, that's a good thing. It looks pretty outside, but I will have had enough of it after a few days, I'm sure. Hope you all are doing well in this weather... seems every part of the country is effected one way or another. Stay warm! |
It is really really cold here too. Was 4 below zero last night with a wind chill of -20. Lots of snow. Too much to get out. The good thing is I’m getting caught up on lots of quilting projects.

The wood burning stove is keeping us warm. We do have some oil filled space heaters in a few rooms. Our hot water pipes froze but I don't think they broke. We put some of those space heaters by the walls that have the water pipes in 'em. Well the water started flowing last night. I took a warm shower this morning! It was wonderful! I was lucky enough not to have my electricity go off. I know a lotta people that lost power for extended periods of time. Most of TX isn't prepared for these freezing temps. My 100 year old farm house isn't for sure.

Hubby got tired of keeping the fireplace going (already!) so we are back on heat. Our temps are supposed to warm up by the weekend.
Today we have rain and 34 degrees. It's a slushy mess outside. Still have our power on, so I'm not complaining.... Bev, your house has gone through 100 winters! |

Where is everyone! Been awhile since anyone has posted here!
Here is where I am at with the FW Homestead Medallion Quilt. This thing is really getting big, it would not fit on my display wall. I am still enjoying doing my 2 blocks a week. Last night I printed out the templates for March blocks. We are back to 8" blocks, the last round was 6". I have the Grassy Creek flimsy, backing and batting all ready to sandwich, which I hope to start today. It is a big quilt also. |
That is just an amazing piece of eye candy, Jeannie! I love your colors and all those block patterns too.
