I have finished the 3rd clue, now I am putting on some borders and then I will post a picture tonight before I go to bed.

Love the quilts I am seeing.

Lots of different scappy looks.

Sewed on mine this afternoon, got the rows all done. Hopefully sew them together tomorrow. Had to cut way more fabric for the stars since I decided to make it bigger. Thought I'd never get done sewing those squares on the ends. Not real sure if I'm going to use rectangles don't really want to cut that many more. May just finish the star ends and put solid fabric between them. We'll see how it looks.

Jaba - what I did was cut rectangles of the sashing fabric to fit in all the spots where the star points were to truly finish out the look of the design. That way I didn't need more miscellaneous rectangles. Love how it came out too. Wish I could do a picture but ones on my phone don't seem to work.

Here is my Mini train Scrappy Nine Patch quilt. Before I added the borders it measured 56 x 72. I added 5 inch borders so now it is 66 x 82. Fits my queen size bed. Here are several pictures of it. And mom is trying to claim it for her. It will be fore my bed not hers, she has a king size bed.

Thank you again Judy.

Been loving everyone's quilts! Coming along great. I hopped on this train while I was in Seattle taking care of my mom. I had a few sewing goodies with me and did my 9-patches there. I didn't have enough material to continue, but now that I am back home I got the chance to make more progress. I am not sure what I'll do for the borders because I am out of all the fabrics I used in the 9-patches. Will post finished project when i figure that out.

I like the serpentine stitch for quilting also very much, I have a Janome 6600 and can not figure out how to get it on my machine, I have tried the Janome web cite with no help there. please help me if you have a clue on how to get this stitch on my machine, I can't afford to buy a Bernina.

Cindy, it turned out great! Makes me wish I had used black for my sashing. Too late now. I plan to add borders to mine too.
Sapphire, I love the pink and white in yours. Really sets it off nicely.
I was thinking about making mine twice as big so I cut out more squares for 12 more 9 patches. Now I will just make a whole new quilt out of those. Maybe I can get it done at my quilt retreat this week.

Junie, you probably have a stitch that is similar that you could substitute. I think your machine is a twin sister (fraternal!) of my Elna Excellence and there are several stitches that I think would work.

You have to change the mode, and then choose the stitch you want to use. Look at the stitch sample card you have for your 6600. I am going to use Mode 3, number 56 or 66 not sure yet which one I will use.

Hope you figure it out.

I have tried several of the stitches on my machine and they are pretty but they don't stretch out like I think they should. They would be nice on miniature quilts. I will keep on trying. thank you for your reply
