#10 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 #12 3 1/2 square .... Mirabelle, On the Block #2 cutting recommendations, I found #10 to be a real squeaker so I re-cut it at 4" x 2 1/2" to make it fit. Did I miss something" Sue P.S. Thanks oodles for doing these cuttings measurements for us. I used to be a whacker but this saves a ton of time and fabric. |

I just measured the first and the second block. The first block is 13.25" :( and my printer is set to no scaling. So I have no idea why this one is too small.

Color Choice Resources
For those of you struggling with your color choices, here are a couple of resources that I use in both my sewing and my jewelry.
1. Design-Seeds.com - http://www.design-seeds.com/ Look for the palette search link to browse palettes of your favorite colors. I've subscribed to their daily emailed palettes and save my favorite to browse later when I'm searching for color ideas. The site also has an amazing gallery of color palettes from thousands of photographs. 2. Chip-it by Sherwin Williams - http://letschipit.com/ You can generate a detailed paint chip from a favorite photograph or graphic. For instance, I asked it for a paint chip of carriem's fabric choices shown her message (#16) on page 2 of this September thread and here's what I got. http://tmp.letschipit.com/LbQdbV_full2.jpg I've even scanned or photographed a piece of fabric I'd like to use and generated a chip of colors that complement the fabric. I find it useful when stumped about which direction to take. In general, I just go with my gut reaction to my choices. I find I like the results more often than not even if I didn't like them initially. These two resources are great "jumping off" places. I hope this helps some of you still wrestling with color choices. Sue |

Mirab's_DD your block is great I love to use black makes all the colors pop. I used it once lets just say did not stay black as we have 2 long white haired Turkish Angora cats that reside in our home they are so cute but hairy. One has crystal blue eyes and his brother has one blue and one greenish-yellow eye like the cat in the photo below.

I too love to pp . I love your choice of colors. Great job.
|
Lynnie, when I started pp I thought I would never learn how to and I didn't like it because I had no idea how to do it. Now I love it and do pp as much as I can, even redraw blocks in EQ5 so I can pp them. There are lots of tuts on the internet and Craftsy has a pp class too.

|
Great blocks, ladies. They are all beautiful.
|
The blocks are so pretty! I have block two fabric cut!
|
What a great Sunday morning, lots of eye candy from more Spikers. Blue and white is stunning, love the use of stripes, it certainly looks like a snowflake.
Roserips I like your background fabric, it looks grey, very interesting and a beautiful block.. |

Bev..You indeed have snowflakes in your future with the blue's...So pretty... Roserips, I love the way the green striped fabric pulls together...very lifelike... |

Gee, I like the first block so I partnered it with another of a different color:
Greengold and a blue one. Enjoy. |
Decidedto do mine over, didn't like it. Now, have to get everything straightened up for the delivery of my new frig and stove, the frig went kapoot after 15 years, they don't make things to last anymore. Start again come Monday.
|
Oh wow QNS, absolutely fab. Are you making two quilts? Wow what different flavors they have, spectacular.
|
Thank you, Kwiltkrazy. I do not know if it will be two quilts or just place mats...see how I get along with the rest of them. It is called 'too much time on my hands' and unable to do much else. Seeing the doctor again this afternoon about my right knee; know I pulled a muscle three weeks ago.
