The only selling I've done is ebay and I have a Paypal only policy (actually it's ebay's policy but I like it)

I wouldn't ship items until confirmation of payment. With online banking you can now scan checks in for instant deposit :)

Unfortunately, sometimes the check really *IS* in the mail...I just mailed a check to a location 40 miles away... it took EIGHT days to get there!!

Don't you hate that? I had to mail a check because they didn't use PayPal. I should have driven the 40 miles to pick it up. Would have been quicker.

I don't use checks much, these days. Pay most everything online or with debt card.

It IS funny how that works, too. Sometimes you can recieve a check from as far away as Maine in 3 days, but one state away takes a week, lol!

I think, that since you're only 40 miles away, that if you're going to be sending more checks you should just arrange to have dinner with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   That way you don't have to rely on snail mail.........but 8 days for a 40 miles trek IS rediculous....you'd think it was walked to the destination.
