“Best Before” Food Label Date Double-Take

That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, or at least not much.
I have some deep closets in my kitchen that I have never, in over 40 years, gotten down on the floor to see what is there. Last time I bent down to check there were some wine bottles from my late DH's ex, who loved to party and we didn't. Nice wine, tastes good in stews and for marinating meats almost as good as my Kombucha for that use.
Just opened some plum jam marked 1985 that I had made, sugar was kinda crystalized but tasted good.

I personally HATE all the coding stuff they put on food labels. Just give us the important stuff. They shojldn't be coding anything...just put plain language on it

That is funny. I don't believe Hidden Valley Ranch dip was made in 1954. Hidden Valley Ranch was a dude ranch in up state NY then. Now it is one of the Hole-in-the-Wall Summer camps that were started by Paul Newman. It is the site of the Double H Camp.
