Been a long time since I have seen newborns! Had forgotten how tiny they are. Thanks for sharing.

The one is still lost???? Could it have gotten tangled up in some bedding or something? Could she have hidden it somewhere??? These things are a mystery to me! I had an entire litter disappear a couple of years ago..of course, they were outside...but still....no sign of them..no sign of varmits either....

I've never heard of cats eating their kittens. ewww, what a thought. It must be somewhere....where did she give birth...is there a cabinet with a hole nearby or something? Does she go outside? She could have carried it away outside??? I would think if she ate it, you'd see blood or something.

no... shes in the bottom of my otherwise empty closet floor in a drawer from my dresser.... when i changed the blanket, i removed them ALL onto the new blanket. it is nowhere in there and she hadnt come out during the time frame.. i was in the bedroom in bed facing the closet.

i hadnt heard of it either... but according to both of the vets here, its actually how they are supposed to by their nature. its part of the cleaning process like they generally eat all the left over pieces from birthing... most people just tend to remove any dead b4 the cat gets to it, or just dont see it like i didnt, either way its rather disgusting lol

we are down to 5, we lost a total of 3 in the first 24 hours :(, but they are the biggest, and loudest of the 8. extremely active, ill be glad when they can see.. the way they climb and claw each other looks so sad lol

of the 5, there are 3 girls and 2 boys we thought it was 3 boys.. but only 2 kittens got boy parts

they have all been named and the girls that plan on taking some home eventually are determined to come by everyday to look at them and awww over them lol

this was when she was in labor... and no very happy lol

Oh, that little white one is really standing out, but they are ALL cute! Yes, sadly they will eat a baby if they feel something is wrong with it, or perhaps she knew she couldnt handle them all....UGH, law of the jungle, huh? Hope shes a good Mama!

Yes, cats eat their kittens after they die. We've managed to come in part way through the process. Yuck!
