My fil threw his daughter's clean laundry away...she'd bagged in trash bags because she had so much! Needless to say, she had him out in the dumpster digging it back out. Thank goodness it was NOT a trash pick-up day. It was pretty funny. Even she got a chuckle out of it. My son (age 8 or so at the time) thought it was great fun to get to dig around in the dumpster with Poppy. The whole rest of the visit he kept looking for things to throw away that they could hunt for. We had to watch him and our stuff like a hawk.

I once asked my son, while he was emptying the upstairs garbage cans, if he would empty the little bag hanging next to my sewing machine that I throw my scraps and threads in. Never thought another thing about it until several days later when I went looking for a bag on the floor that held all the fabrics for my next quilt and couldn't find it. You guessed it - he threw away about $100 of fabric all matched and ready to go.

He's lucky he lived through that one.

Oh dear. I haven't had any problems like that, thank goodness. I am lucky if I can get any of the men or boys around my house to collect the trash. They are happy to take it out just not collect it.

lol... well... after calling around i discovered Dollar General here in town was open, and told him he wasnt getting dinner until i had an iron lol...
so i now at least have a temporary 1 :D
had to iron the creases out of the fat quarters i bought last night lol. I am guessing it might have been easier to wash them first, but for some reason, i do it backwards and knowing its probably easier hasnt changed it lol.

and cjomomma... i originally asked him to take it out Monday lol... i discovered a while back that it always takes at least 2 days for him to actually take the trash out at all... so i generally just end up settin it on the back porch in front of the door so he has no choice if he wants to get in the house after work.
Hes been on pass since Wednesday after having to be in @ 0130 for the last few days, to see off most of his battalion for deployment. Im just glad he wasnt going this time (hes already been twice), but will be almost just as happy to send him back to work Tuesday :D

I like how Gayle's thinking on this, and DH can't even complain about it because that purchase was made necessary by his failure to pay attention to what he was doing. ;)
