Lynnie,
One year (even before fabric got so high) found some fabric that was quite expensive and wanted enough to make me a quilt for our bed at home, so...decided that gc to that shop was all I wanted for Christmas. I posted notes on the refrigerator, washing machine, bathroom mirror, etc. Told everyone that SURE WOULD BE NICE TO GET GC FOR THE SHOP FOR FABRIC that I wanted. I started a month or so before Christmas, and really had fun teasing everyone about it. I even went so far as to buy several $5. gc from the fabric shop and put them in with the kids gc to the book store and told the kids I would take them off their hands if they has no use for them. Needless to say I got lots of gc to the fabric shop, lots of laughs and we all had a really fun time with it. That was quite a few years ago and we still have a giggle or two about that year. Post notes everywhere, beg and plead, tell everyone to make sure they get receipts and it if doesn't fit...return for cash and go get your gift cards.LOL
