Clotilde has an excellent book of doll clothes for 18" dolls which fit the American Girl dolls.

Karen, McCall's, Simplicity and Butterick all have patterns for 18" doll clothes and accessories.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. These doll clothes are so much fun to make and my DGD loves getting them.

I googled "free American Girl doll clothes pattern" and got tons of free patterns. Just look in all the sites and you will find, dresses, shirts, skirts, pants and even shoe patterns. There are lsoe knitting patterns and crochet patterns available for free on line. The robe is a Simplicity pattern. I wait until Joann's has a pattern sale and get them then. These doll clothes are so much fun to make and so much easier than Barbie clothes I made when my girls were little.
