Sounds like a wonderful holiday. I love visiting Amish country and would enjoy such an evening myself. I think I would enjoy life somewhere in between the "English" and the "Amish".

When my daughter was at grad school, I drove her home and we decided to go through Amish country. I have wanted an Amish quilt since I was a small girl. We stopped at a shop where they sold quilts. There were hundreds of them. I could not resist. It is on my bed and I love it.

Thank you for sharing about the 'Chat and Chew'! It sounds like a wonderful experience. I live about 2 1/2 hours south of Shipshewana and try to get up there at least 3 or 4 times a year. I love the slower pace...so relaxing.
