Another great day for morgan

Oh Jammie!!!! It is so wonderful to read of the improvement that Morgan is making :!: :!: :!: Prayers continue to go up for your family during this time. Also glad that the Dr.s were able to pin down the cause to the meningitis (sp) infection. I understand your steps not wanting to see here like this. Give them time - they are old enough to understand what is going on and have to deal with it in their own way. It's so hard to be at that age between child and adult.

They were not and are still not able to pin down the cause...so that means they still dont know if it will happen again....but so far for todays update...the nuro docs walked in, removed her shunt ( or the drain that goes into her brain ) and stiched her up and left!!! This is amazing news...and it also means they will be able to move her into rehab now :) until they do so which could be as soon as tomorow...i doubt it though..they will get her into a chair and sitting up, and they will be able to work harder and further with her progress. there has been talk for days about making it perminent..so it was a complete shock when they called to tell me it was removed :) my baby girl is one step closing to coming home now. I should add...that she still cant move her neck or head, or mouth or her left side..so progress is still slow moving

I am so happy to hear this! Going to make me cry at work.
My 9 year old granddaughter asked what I was doing when I was looking at Morgan's threads so I told her and showed her Morgan's pictures. She asked if she could make her a card. Of course she can!

yes definatly cards are great! I want to stop and get her some flowers today when we head down to see her. we've put up pictures, a poster of hanna montana, and all sorts of things. she will be in rehab for a month or more...but since yesterday marked her 2nd week in icu and we were told to expect atleast a month and a half, this is great.

Today she wasn't feeling so well..she kept crying in pain towards the end of our visit...but before that I got a whole lot of smiles...and she was doing some mouth movement which is great.
