To Me, Holice Is Like Morgan Stanley

When he speaks, I Listen!! He has a wealth on information and we are so lucky to have him as a member. I first saw him on QNNtv with his tutorial on binding. I still refer to it and always pay attention when he posts to our site.

OK? Would I know him if I see him? Right now the name doesn't ring a bell.

Would you be speaking of Holice Turnbow? Famous for his whole cloth quilting?

How do I go about checking out his video on binding? Is it on YouTube? I typed in his name there and it didn't come up. I would love to see it.

I misspoke -- Holice is found on http://www.quilterstv.com/channel/video/264?item=6 instead of QNN. His cutting stencils video is listed as #6 and his binding video is #17. The site has several interesting video's. I like the ones by Billie Lauder also. It took a minute to find them and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to view them as I am not a member but they okay played for me.

I took some class from Holice. He is very nice and patient. Look at his avatar, it is gorgeous. He had it on display at the show.

I am indeed blushing tonight with all this attention and praise. When you have been around quilting for as long as I have you just learn things. You can read all about it on Wikipedia.......
I have been fortunate through the years to be at the right places at the right times and still going strong in this wonderful craft

I'll be teaching at the Original Sewing and Quilting Expos in both Cleveland Ohio in March and here in Worcester Ma in April and at a quilting retreat in Ripley WV in October.

Thank you for the wonderful comments.

I have been quilting since 1981 and he was one of the first names in the quilting world that I became familiar with. Keep up the good work Holice, you are appreciated!

Certainly not to embarrass Holice, but he is an all around caring, giving, talented quilter and teacher. Your will be gifted if you have a chance to take a class from him. I am blessed to have Holice as a QB member but also live in nearby area - he is always willing to do classes in our local area!! I have found his cut down methods helpful and have improved my quilting skills.

I also really appreciate your participation in the board, Holice! I've watched your video on quilterstv.com about using the walking foot for quilting and found it very helpful. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Many years ago, when the World Wide Quilting page was my go to source for quilting, Holice helped me with tips on quilting my first hand quilted project. The best advise he gave me was to make sure I had good lighting (the quilting was done in black on a black background). He's the one who told me about using a silver pencil for marking on the dark background. Even though it was a real learning experience, the quilt is kinda crooked, it's still my favorite of all the quilts I've make. Thanks, Holice. I don't think I ever thanked you then. You're the best.

I've taken several classes from Holice and both were great learning experiences! He even answered a question about one of the projects from a class several years ago.

I, too, viewed Holice's binding lesson, about a year ago. What an "aha" moment! Thank you, sir, for your willingness to share your expertise with the quilting world!

We are indeed blessed to have Holice here to share his experience with us, as well as so very many other talented and generous quilters. This has to be the very best quilting place on the net!!!! Hugs and smiles and many thanks to every member of this board who contributes to the overall good!!!!

    Holice

Didn't you used to be on the World Wide Quilting Page? I really missed that bunch when it went away. I used to work in retail. Aren't you the one with the huge stencil catalogue? I miss working in a quilt shop.
