Ok...I know this is a quilting board but I just had to show off what my daughter cooked up for nerd day at school. She wanted to make a skirt out of old ties. I thought it was pretty clever. I'm going to help her get the zipper in it tomorrow. I think she makes a cute little nerd! :D

If I say I like it, does that make me a nerd? If I ever wore a skirt anymore, I'd want one!!

    Your daughter is adorable!

I love things made with ties! And that is beyond precious! But I agree, it's not for a nerd but for a creative gal.

Pretty girl. I must be a nerd. I'd like that skirt, but mine will need to be a little longer.

Very clever use of old ties. This may catch on and become a fad. Nice work. Thank you for sharing.

That is so clever!! At least your daughter isn't mocking the days of your youth--like mine did--when faced with a day at school like this. The 80's had some serious good things about them, the hair is, well....special.

    How Fun! Cute girl :)

I have seen these on recycle sites. I love them! If I wouldn't look like an elephant in one I would be nutty enought to wear on of the longer ones I have seen. I have even seen evening gowns made like this.
