This is a quilt top I am working on for my daughter's partner.
The pattern is called Indian Hatchet--I found it in an old Patchwork book I found at a used book store. I adapted it to paper piecing and increased the size to a 12 inch block.

I enjoyed trying to figure this one out but I'm not sure I would do it again without having a computer program to help. That is my next big purchase. Software to do my own designs and fabric calculations. I never seem to have quite enough when I am doing my own plans. And being on an island it makes it a challenge to go and get the extra fabric when all I want to do is keep sewing.

My mother got rid of my father's old necties, shortly after he died. Broke my heart. They are hard to find inexpensively... but, I'll keep looking.

Love the use of that rich blue ang golden yellow. This is a very cool pattern not seen alot anymore. It looks like a good one to use up scraps. I'll have to look for it myself!

Your top is teriffic!
