Check with your internet provider a lot of them will provide security for you free

I found Norton slowed my computer down. I use free Avast and also free SuperAntiSpyware.

Microsoft Security essentials doesn't exist anymore...no updates available
AVAST WORKS GREAT. Free version has worked for us but they do have upgrade too. So far no need to pay.

I've used AVAST for years. I also run Malwarebytes -- purchased on desktop but the freebie on laptop. Scan with these when I think about it or get one of those annoying pop ups that someone is trying to steal from bank account, etc. I also use CCCleaner.

it is called Defender now, and is still free https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...ndows-defender

I think the essentials is still available for older computers.

AVG been using it for several years.. Make sure it is the FREE Basic.. I haven't had a Virus since I started using it. They do have a download you pay for..
