well I finished it but was not happy with it. AND it was a bit too big. So I ripped it out and will start over. Keeping everyone's good advice in mind!

Well... in life there are some mistakes that you only make once, because they were unpleasant enough that you remember 'em.

For you this might be one of them.

As for me, I made this mistake several times before I remembered to check the first join, before charging ahead in my abundant enthusiasm for a new project. :?

Hey, I once ripped out an entire Irish knit sweater that I had made, because I decided I did not like the style and wanted a more traditional style. Actually I had DH rip it out.

You could knit it widthwise and then just seam or graft the ends (if you do the latter, use the invisible cast on). That avoids the problem with the twist.

On the other hand, a Moebius earwarmer would be a novelty! :P
