What a terrible dilemma to be without water!  Hope you can find some today and they get the water line fixed for your area.

Early this morning around 4 am our power went out. I was glad I was awake when it happened so my DH wouldn't miss his alarm. I did find some back up battery lights, but I must say the coffee wasn't so good. Why do you lose power when nothing is happening outside, not even the wind was blowing!!

The most likely reason for loss of power that is not weather related is that someone hit a power pole and knocked out the power.

We have water, wish I could send some to you. I hear Tenn and Kentucky has tons they want to get rid of.

I saw a show about a month ago (Rachel Ray I think) anyway they were talking how Pur has come up with packets to put into a container and withing 1/2 hour contaminated water would be ok. They said the packets were less than 50 cents each.

I have been looking in the stores trying to find them for emergencies with no luck. We had a major water main break over the winter (actually 2) and had to boil water for a week. I would love to keep these packets on hand.

They were talking about how they were sending them to Haiti for the people without good water.

Good luck, how your water main is fixed soon.

Yes, here in Middle TN we have plenty of water and will share if you promise to take it today. We have a major water problem as well as an electrical problem. No words can really tell you what happened here in the last two days. Please send prayers for all who have lost their homes and businesses.

I heard about this on the news this morning. You don't realize just how precious water is until you don't have any. Good luck!

We live on the site of an old house, and the cistern that collects rain water from roof run off is still operational. We have been talking about cleaning it up and use that. Why pay for "city" water when we are 7 miles from town?

Here on the cape we do have water because we have wells. However, you and the other 2 million people in the Boston area are having a tough time without water. I have seen the fights on TV in the food stores over bottled water etc.. Its hard to believe that Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are closed due to that fact they can't use the water. Well, I will be staying in the Boston area (Quincy) Thurs. and Fri. and have already bought my water to bring with me.

Good luck and hope they fix it soon.
