Ditto here. I loved Brenda and The Closer show. My DDs didn't like Major Crimes at all. Also, don't really care for the woman in charge, CPT Rayder, but maybe she'll grow on me.

He, he. BarbP the mouth thing was something Kyra thought up I think. to make the character different. well she certainly was. it got better later on though.
Mary's mouth? who knows why she did the same thing. it's like her jaws are locked.
ljpTX, I also love detective shows. and books. especially British authors. not so much blood and gore. sorry American authors but you know I"m right!
i have comcast here and Colorado has a great channel with European detective shows. they are sub-titled though. you can also watch them on your computer. maybe everyone can, not sure. MHz worldview. try it.

I watched - Pope is a jerk -more concerned about his career than about justice - and Cpt Rayder is too interested in being PC-I liked Brenda because she was for the victim and hell on the criminal.

The new show is too much PC and not enough for the victims. I hope it gets better if not then I am out of there.

The way they are treating Lt Provenza was a crime and shows lack of respect for his expertise and abilities.

Rayder wants them to like her and respect her but she hasn't shown any respect for the squad. Her only ally is an a** kisser who lies thru her teeth.

    Default Closer

I watched one show from show # 1 until the finale.......but my daughter ran into our house and before saying hello..asked which TV she could watch since it was the last Closer.......

We finally chatted when the show was over....so I guess she is one of the ones who will definitely miss watching it.

I agree with you. I liked MC, but the jury is still out. I will probably watch it for a while and either love it or lose interest. I have set to record the series. Sure going to miss The Closer, though.

The Closer has been my fav from the beginning. I've watched all the shows and the reruns. I watched MC and liked it. I'll probably continue to watch it.

The rapist looked like he was dying on the floor, but they definitely left it open for his character to escape prison and return. I thought the elevator scene was amazing! Haven't watched the other show yet.

when did the mom die? what date? i thought we had recorded all the shows, but for sure i missed that one! will probably keep watching mc, unless something REALLY good comes on at the same time. if it's all mediocre at that time, what difference does it make? i'll watch the 'mediocre' show i know. lol

Frances Sternhagen (I think) played her Mom and is a lovely actress. I will miss seeing her. Glad the older detective gets a stronger part in the new show. Can't stand Mary's part. her mouth and glasses drive me nuts. it took me long enough to get used to Kyra Sedgewick's mouth as it was. oh well.
they showed the new show and the ending of tD
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a "mouth" problem. Do you think casting went out looking for women with strange mouths?
I'm another one with a "mouth thing." They say the eyes are the things many people are attracted to first, but for me, it has always been mouths. I had trouble at times watching Kyra, because she has one of those mouths that drive me nuts. I always think of the expression "mealy mouthed" for someone like that. I was never sure about Capt. Raydor, whether she was really trying to help Brenda or not. She talks like everything is a secret and she doesn't want anyone else to hear. Major Crimes was a bit of a disappointment, but I think it takes a while to stop comparing a spin-off to the original show. We'll see.
