I balance mine pretty much everyday, I guess that is the accounting person in me. I keep everything on an excel spreadsheet and just reconcile it - because there isn't a lot of activity it is pretty easy to do.

I don't write checks any more, so I no longer need to balance my account. But when I did pay everything by check, it was balanced to the penny every month.

I handed my(our) personal checking over to my husband to do, and he does balance it every month. I did it for 25 years, it's his turn now.
At work I reconcile about 15 accounts every month.

I do online checking and debit cards. I check it every day or two...to double check that nothing extra has been charged and that everything has come in.

I dont write many checks out all, so I do it once a month. I hate math, so it isnt my favorite job, LOL!

I balance our personal accounts and a business account every month, always balances to the penny, not a big deal.

I don't use checks much but I use my debit card all the time and I do keep the account balanced. I do everything on the computer. I keep my checking account record in an excel spreadsheet, I pay almost everything online and I check my bank online to see what cleared and then reconcile it so I know it agrees with me. I am a former accountant - I can't imagine not balancing my accounts.

Same here (love excel), but I balance mine each week (make weekly payroll deposits so I track everything through excel each week. Do accounting at work, so I have 5 bank statements a month, and it does get hairy, but I keep excel sheets on each of the accounts anytime a check batch is written, so that helps with reconcilations.

I check ours almost daily. Just a great habit I've gotten into. It also makes me feel more in control of WHEN I CAN spend and When I CANNOT Spend.

For 32 yrs my DH has balanced out checkbook every single month. We bal. to the penny & always have. It is not tough to keep an accurate checkbook.
