What a beautiful story. What a testament, and helps us all to remember "It's not your birthday."

What a wonderful story. Christmas is sharing and giving to less fortunate. We do a family every year for Christmas and this year we did two. It makes you feel for good inside. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story. May you have a blessed New Year's.

The old couple thanked them profusely and it became a Saturday ritual, bread or rolls made up in different shapes or into cinnamon rolls and a pot of soup or stew. It was a great help to the lady of the house as she was worn to a frazzle taking care of her husband and it was a great treat to him to have these pretty young girls with smiling faces come to visit every week and bring goodies. one of those girls operated a gluten free bakery for a while and that was her and that was her inspiration. All three still remember what fun they had and I remember the end of the bickering.
This is also a wonderful story. Children learn to care for others when they are small. And if you do some traveling, and get beyond the tourist spots, you find out how others in this world are living. Many times, it is not nice. There are many ways to help these people, too, and Christmas is a good time to start doing that.
