Thank you for posting this, I hadn't seen it before. The directions say to make one long binding for the top of the pennant with the ends extending for ties, rather than separate ties attached so it won't put stress on the corners.
It's a little confusing, I'm wondering do we have to use the string pieced heart pattern & pieced squares that the courtepointeclaire provided, or can we put our own interpretation on them remembering the colour restrictions?

That's how I first thought too, but then after looking at the links, I see they really mean a "pennant" type NOT an actual Canadian flag.

I changed my sewing plans this afternoon and got one made, so will share the picture here. I signed it on the back which is the same design as the front. I used heat-n-bond lite and edge stitched the appliqué pieces. [ATTACH=CONFIG]428553[/ATTACH]
