Dear hubby came home and loved the cabinets!! Not quite finished still some touch up to do. The next thing is tearing down the wall paper. Hubby has been calling me "the man" lol ! He was so surprised I did this! Me too. I just got so tired of the oak. I was hoping it came out ok only because I didn't want to tear out and start over. We don't hire anyone to do our work. So hurray for me! haha! So I hope you guys like what I've done. And now I can get back to quilting!! Will show some of my work in pictures topic. Thanks everyone :D

Wow, you did an excellent job. Your kitchen looks brand new. You must be so proud, and since your husband likes it too and you don't have to buy new cabinets, it sounds like you saved a ton of $$$.

I think you deserve a fabric shopping trip!!!

thanks ladies! This really wasn't hard at all. All I used was a screw driver to remove screws to detach doors from hardware and handles. And I used a foam brush with stain gel. The only problem I had was the weather. I had to wait until it was warm enough to keep windows open and fans running. And of course the doors were all over the dining room table and living room floor.
Alot of patience was needed. Now I just have to do some finishing, floor boards and trim work inside where the door closes. But the hard part is done! Anyone can do this! It works best when hubby isn't around!

They're beautiful! The only thing is, you're tearing out the wallpaper???? That's beautiful, too, and it looks so nice with the cabinets!

This wallpaper is about 11 yrs old. Can't stand it! I wanted to tear it out 1 week after I put it up. But I do have to say the paper does look better with this coloring. But it will still come down. I tested a corner before I started the staining, and tearing down is going to be harder than I thought. Its going to be a big headache. So I think I'll wait a little while. Thanks for your comments :-D :-D :-D

WOW!!! Your cabinents look awesome :D:D:D

You might want to rent a steamer to remove your wall paper. There is a tool that scores it so the steam can work more efficiently too
