Are there markings on the bottom? They were obviously painted by the same person, the eyes are all the same. I would love to have then watching over me in my sewing room.

There are no markings on the bottom. I found 2 of them on ebay but they were vases and one of them at least was new. They weren't as well painted and the hair was molded and not just painted on. Looks like they were maybe copied from these.

They look Polish to me from the colors and the style, but it's hard to say, if there are no markings on them. Seems like a good thing to take to Antiques Roadshow when they're in your area. I'll bet they don't see many like that.

I showed this to my 14yr old son and DH and they both said Poland not Russian because they don't have a body for nesting like the nesting dolls. I figured if anybody knew it would be my DS. That boy amazes me sometimes.

I have a couple of wooden dolls I bought while we were stationed on Okinawa, I think they are going to move to my sewing room! I need the company, 3 dogs. my Mom and the Funky Monkey are not enough!

Well, I did finally find them on line listed in a store as "vintage style" They were selling one for about the same cost that I spent on all three. So, I guess I got a good deal. Thanks everyone!
