Default Canadian Advice, Info on shipping

I can buy 2 replacement mixing bowls for $35 from Canada, or 1 for $25 from the US. I'm in the US. Is there any kind of lengthy delay right now getting things from Canada? Are they getting hung up in Canadian or US Customs? Anything else I haven't covered? Will I have to pay Duty?

In Canada, regular post is Christmas slow.

Check the shipping costs. It was pricey when I ordered a quilt pattern.

Actually, it's worse than that. We sent something to friends in NY as a joke from our cottage in CDN. It needed to travel less than 100 miles. We happen to run into them about a month later (we live 2 hours apart so this was pretty incredible) and asked how they liked the package. They hadn't received it yet. It was delivered a few weeks later. And the cost wasn't cheap. lol

If you want it in this lifetime, you may be better off getting in in the US.

Where are you getting it from? If from Amazon or somewhere like that, they seem to have better luck with shipping than the average person.

Keep in mind that Amazon is very slow right now because of COVID. They are doing essentials first. Non-essentials are very very slow.

I resent that remark about Canada Post. I have something coming from the States that is three weeks in...
Don't forget the exchange rate too. Just order from wherever it is cheaper... including exchange, duty and taxes (if any)

The “ Christmas slow” quote is from the Post Office spokesmen.

juliasb, I'm in Canada and I'm still getting my 2 day Prime orders from Amazon in 2 days for the most part.

I buy a lot from Amazon and it's been mostly much slower. Same for other places.
