I had a red iron and a small ironing board. I was making doll clothes and I was taught how to iron the seams. I also "got to iron" doilies, handkies and my Uncle's t-shirts (Dad was in Korea). For you youngsters, YES we did iron the t-shirts and boxers (and Grandma had to be restrained from starching them).

Default iron - laundry room

I have my laundry room decorated with old laundry related things, and do have one of those irons.
There's a toy washboard and tub, the bottle and top used to dampen something to be ironed, a rug beater, a laundry detergent tin, and the wringer part of an old wringer washer.

Also included is the tin we found when we tore up the floor to replace it. 'Whoever' had used it to patch a hole!

I haven't added them yet, but I have been collecting photos of people hanging laundry on a clothesline.

I also want to add an old postcard I found. It's old, when they made them out of leather, and is a postcard for a lake Erie island near to here, Put in Bay

I wanted to make the laundry room fun!

The photos bring back memories of my mom hanging out the wash with her clothespin apron tied around her waist. It didn't matter how cold it was outside, as long as there was a wind. I don't see a pant stretcher in your collection, yet. Glad you've got the iron!

Yes, I had a silver and black iron w/ironing board. Don't remember exactly what I ironed, but would assume it was doll clothes. Thanks for hitting the "REFRESH" key in my brain.
