    Christmas gift for my granddaughter

My DGD will have her first Christmas this year. I made this little spring jacket for her. It is a sweatshirt to begin with and then added the facings and the applique and the Chenille by the Inch to make it soft and little girly! I just have to add buttons. The pattern called for just one button at the top but I thought since it is a jacket that 4 buttons would make a nice closing for it.

    Beautifully done!
    I love the button tabs.
It looks professionally done - not repurposed at all.

I bought a little sweatshirt for MY granddaughter just last week....with the idea of making her a cute jacket. It will be a little while before she fits into it though....she is only 3 months old...and I bought a size 2 sweatshirt.

    Your idea is very cute....

My DGD is 4 months old and it is a size 2. After you cut off the cuffs and the bottom band, it makes the jacket a little smaller. I think it will be fine by next spring. Babies grow so much that first year. Have fun making yours and post pictures.
