Crafty Bear: There was one really sweet little old lady where my Father was in Indiana, and she would carry her purse all around with her, waiting to go home. It was really sad, but she sure loved that purse.

It never occurred to me to give to a nursing home, so I am very glad you mentioned this.

Yes, I called the office manager at the nursing home last year and she said yes they accept donations.

So I called the same nursing home back today and took the bags to them this afternoon.

I will also see if I have any figurines, etc. and other things that I can take to them.

I am also going to go to Goodwill and try to find some walkers to donate to the nursing home.

Also going to buy some handkerchiefs to take to the guys.

Thank you for posting this. I still have clothes from when my mother passed away.

Wow! Thanks for the wake-up call. I'll have to call and ask about walker bags also. They're fun and fast to make and take such a small amount of stash.

Walkers? My gosh, I would never have thought about that. How about canes, too? Love your ideas and suggestions.

Yes, lets all try to find used walkers, canes to donate to the nursing homes.

Also we can make the walker bags for them!

I just did a search and found this free pattern for walker bags:
