I can't say that the young gray cat is a stray stray - We've been feeding him for about 15 months and he's been living in the basement garage for about 9 months.
And he has us trained to let him in and out.
I do like this vet - a lot - but the prices sure seemed to have jumped at this office a lot, too.

I had a cat neutered less than a year ago and I didn't pay that much. My vet is in Stillwater. He is pretty reasonable. I also know of another vet in South St Paul that I hear is really reasonable as well.
Or maybe you could call Caring for Cats in No. St Paul. It's a feline rescue - they could have info for other places around the state.
PM if you need any phone numbers....

Pets are very expensive. Neutering, vaccinations and check up... about 1000.00 for the first year. Finn goes for blood tests each time his phenobarb dosage changes ( can't get it right just yet) and that blood test costs us 150.00 every six weeks. His drugs are 30.00 a month and he has special dog food that costs 60.00 a bag. His purchase price was NOTHING compared to the vet bills over the last 6 years! He needs his teeth cleaned now and will require two vets... one to monitor him because of his seizures and one to do the work... 700.00
No more doggies for me once Finn is gone. That's a lot of fabric I could be buying!

Its not cheap for sure to get an animal fixed, but look around there might be a local shelter or society that does it for cheap !

First I commend you for wanting to do this. And yes call around the shelters and rescues to find out who they use. In GA there were a couple of mobile units. I used CatSnip.. Drop them off early in the morning and pick them up later that afternoon. And ferals I think they did for free. Too bad not all places have things like this. It would make for many more animals getting fixed. My other pet peeve is the vet charging $50 for microchipping. It can be done WAY cheaper than that.
