My 6 month old Toby loves to try to catch the needle as I'm sewing. He also loves my pin cushions have pins all over because he thinks they're balls. When he feels like he's not getting any attention he crawles up on my chest so I can't see to sew! Time to quit lol.

What do you do with her? Easy! Give her a hug, tell her you love her, but really need to work. At the end of her life, my girl cat liked to sit on my lap when I sewed. It was awkward, but it's a great memory.

I felt compelled to add to this. I only stepped away from the machine for a minute!

Your kitty could be a twin to mine, in looks and curiosity!

She is taking her job as quilt inspector very diligently! Can you shoo her out of the room and close the door? IF not, maybe you can make her her own little quilt and put it on the cutting table or ironing board or chair in the room while you sew. Tempt her to lay on it and stay on it by giving her treats. Mine has yet to come up on the kitchen table when I sew, but she does sleep on one of the chairs while I am working. And if I use the floor to lay out blocks or make my quilt sandwich, well, she has to inspect it and there is just not getting around it. I love my cat and she lets me live with her! LOL

My cats want to sleep on the quilts when I am trying to sew on them.

We have a new Yorkie mix (just turned one) who used to cry when DH was gone and I was busy sewing. I put his pillow up on the far corner of my sewing tables (4 pushed together) and he stays there curled up and cute. But you can believe I am quicker to check around and pick up pins! He just wanted to see what was going on! Not nearly as helpful as your cat!!!!

She just wants to be near you. My kitties like to hang around my machines at times as well. She is so cute.

I don't have a cat but I do have a dog and he's trained as to what rooms in the house he is allowed in and which he is not. He knows not to enter my bedroom nor my art/sewing room. Surely cats can be trained to do the same thing.

I guess it boils down to "who is in charge" of you and your house; you or your cat.
