"New Skin" liquid bandage has been a lifesaver for me. It burns like the dickens for a minute or two while it's drying, but after that, it protects the cut very well. It even lasts long enough to take a shower, but needs to be reapplied afterwards (at least for me). :)

just an update. swelling is down, and the pain is much less severe. Can be bumped with out bleeding. Its doing really well. should be all healed by the time we start our App blocks.

I have tried new skin in the past on a cut. i would rather amputate my fingure than go through that again. LOL
