Just a word of caution about electric blankets and quilts, especially those using poly batting: they don't play well together. This quilt was on top of an electric blanket that had been left on. A 3-year-old was sitting on the bed, playing. The poly batting melted from the heat from where he was sitting, and got hot enough to have the cotton material catch on fire. The little boy was not hurt, but the electric blanket is toast and the quilt is in for repairs.

Electric blankets are supposed to be used alone (I never knew this) and of course, should be turned off when not in use. I'll stick to loads of quilts on the bed!

this is why I don't use electric blankets. Always afraid they will catch fire. Pile on the quilts for me too!

My bedroom was up stairs in the converted attic little to no heat, For a short while I had an electric blanket, It caught fire and half of it was charred in the morning, Thank heavens I was not under that half and didn't get burnt. They scare the H$** out of me!!
