ALCATREZ    You won't regret visiting this prison on an island off San Francisco.

I love SF, it is my favorite city. Husband was stationed on Mare Island in Vellajo back in '83-85. If I had to live in California I would want to live in the Bay area. It has so much to offer.

Have a great time. It is great you have family there, that will be helpful.

Make sure you visit Stinson Beach and Muir Woods to see the Sequoia Trees. Have a drink at the Cliff House at sunset. Drive the 49 mile scenic tour - takes you through the Presidio, Twin Peaks, along the coast, through GG Park, past Mission Delores and Alamo Square.

Oh, and Haight Ashbury is still a cool place. I love SF - it's my favorite place.

Well it sure sounds like you have been provided a lot of places to to. I live about 30 minutes from SF. I was born there but raised on the other side of the bay. You should have a fabulous time. There are so many restaurants and places to vist. Pier 39 has all the toursitic shops to see. The Wharf, of course, has the Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe it or not, Boudin's bakery - Sour dough bread, The Rain Forrest Cafe fun for kids to see. Have a wonderful time. There is so much to do in the Bay Area and fairly easy to get around with our BART transit system.

Try to get to this store, it is fabulous!!! I just wish I had pockets full of
money every time I go there. My husband used to complain that I wore
the numbers off the credit cards every time I got near that store!!!
Haven't been there since he started getting sick..time to go back!

If your brother has lived there for awhile, then he should know San Jose
well. Try going there to the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose
which houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in ... San Jose CA 95191. Hours: M - F: 9:00am - 5:00pm ...

Winchester Mystery House is also well worth visiting, I've been there several
times and find something new each visit. It's very strange and beautiful house!!

I hadn't realized that so many members lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am on the mid-peninsula in San Bruno or as it is known "the airport city". When you fly into SFO you land in our city. Hello to all my neighbors.
