    DH made an announcement.

He is thinking of early retirement and decided we should buy a boat and learn to fish. LOL. I said Okay, sounds like fun and I think I have a rod and reel somewhere in the garage, but all the fish cleaning is up to you. He grew up deep sea fishing but never fresh water fish. We have lots of lakes and a river nearby. He is now checking out the different types of boats.
    Got fabric?

Go for it... Hes entitled to fun and relaxation- and just think how happy he will be when he returns refreshed and rejuvenated..My Hubby has a boat- its nice that he takes off and I have a day of sewing without interruption from him.. Its a nice productive day- win win for us both..

I don't do anything differently when DH is home or away so him going fishing all day or the weekend won't make a difference. It will be me that will be changing what I do. Being on a boat with a cold beverage won't be bad at all. I'm glad he thought it up.

Make sure the boat is big enough for all the quilting necessities.

I love fishing!! Just a fun fact...we have five kids and all but the oldest loves to fish. Out of the younger four we have three teenage boys 13,13,14 and a girl 9. We bought them all poles and Abby just had to have the princess pole and I gave in even tho it's so small but the price was great so what the hay, and bought it. To quote my DH that pink, little, short **** pole is going to disappear! (no he doesn't say that in front of her) That princess pole out fishes everyone poor Abby gets bored because as soon as it's cast she catches a fish! The boys want to hide her pole because of course they are all very competitive so buy the princess pole lol

Are you l,ooking to stay where you are? Do you live on a lake? If your looking to move come and buy the house next door to me. I need a neighbor. And the dock is so much nicer than the one we have. Wish I could afford one like it.

My parents did something like that. Dad said he was buying another boat ( he already had one little one) and mom said thats fine then I'm getting my kind of a boat. She got a Gammil and then ended up with an embrodiery machine as well. She says its her boat. What ever makes you both happy. Congrats on the boat!

Learn to fish if that interests you. Otherwise I would suggest something like the arrangement my DH and I have. If he doesn't make me ice fish, I won't make him knit socks! Works great!

You can fish all you want in AR! Hope you enjoy. I grew up sailing and fishing in AR and am now enjoying not being on the water. I would rather sew!

Or a battery! A featherweight is the best way to go, light durable and oh so cute!
I wish to grow into a better person than I am.
