I went to several, but prices were a little high, and they didn't have anything I wanted anyway. Did stop at a thrift store and got some cute kiddie material 3 yards for $2, but when got home found it was a poly blend. It is so cute, I just might make a kids quilt anyway. What do you think, should I look for more poly blend or just use it with washed cotton material?

I only went to one at a local church. I picked up several garbage size bags of fabric scraps -- mostly strips and squares, some FQs and a bit of yardage. $5 total! I took out what I felt I could use and gave the rest to a quilting sister who makes can't afford to purchase a lot. She is always so appreciative of what I give her and in thrilled to bring the finished item to our Show & Tell. As I was driving away my eye caught on to 2 outdoor lounge chairs for $10 each.
I had to call my son to come help because I couldn't even fit one in my car. I'd been searching for a sale so I was thrilled. My DH on the other hand went to a community garage sale -- says he went to at least 50 -- spent a whopping $2. If I didn't have my quilt meeting same time I would have gone too and I'm sure I would have done better than a measly $2.
