Default Did I make a good deal?

Went to an antique fair and found a bunch of sampler notebooks full of material for an exclusive mens shop. All the material is cotton, ( didn't know men had so many patterns to choose from) By the time I trimmed them, I had 490 6x6 squares of beautiful material plus about the same amount of 2/12 in by 6 in pieces. I always read how women make quilts with mens shirts so thought I'd try it. Only paid 20.00 for all of them. Hope it was a good deal!

You can get 36, 6x6-inch squares from a yard of material. You have 490 squares, so you have the equivalent of 13+ yards of material in the 6x6 squares alone. Yes, you got a good deal.

Not just a 'good deal'. You know that you never find those fabrics in any store and the quality is great. I know your quilt will be fantastic.

Lucky you ! I saw a pattern in a quilting magazine of a quilt made in a convent from shirt samples. Loved it.
