I agree - it made me think of the Harvest Moon in October. When the low clouds cleared you could clearly see it and yes it was 'larger' to the eye.

Around 8PM it was huge and golden, just incredibly huge. However, by 10pm, when I wanted to show it to my DGD, it looked normal. Very odd!

My DH and I watched it rise as it broke from below the horizon. It was beautiful. We've had a lot of wind the last few days and there's a lot of sand and dust in the air, so the color of the rising moon was a reddish/orange - gorgeous. Very bright later in the nite when it was higher in the sky.

It was very pretty here in North Texas. Started out as a big orange looking ball then gradually turned the bright color of the moon as it rose higher in the sky. Seemed like you could see the detail a little more on this one. DH and I stood outside and looked at it. Tried to get the grandkids to look but the Wii was more exciting to them.
