both my sons have DirecTV, one in Pacific Northwest and one in Atlanta. I love it when I am there. We have cable right now, but am going in the DirecTV direction I'm sure.

Like a dummy, I switched from DirecTV to ATT.Net...what a joke! My TV stays on 24/7; with ATT, you have to punch the "OK" button to make sure you REALLY want to leave the TV on (seems like every 4-6 hours or so...). Then there's the matter of my monthly bill: it hasn't been the same thing two months running, ever! I keep getting these messages from DTV...."we want you back"...they may get me back for real! ATT is so disorganized it's unreal...if I ever get away from them, I'll never sign up with them again!

I've had them for 20 years and have had very few technical issues. I have been having been having some issues with them over an account that does not belong to me. I don't get their bills but I do get there dunning and disconnection notices. It is annoying and there is no excuse for it. I've made 5 or 6 contacts with them regarding the issue and my next will be to cancel.

I had direct tv for many years but changed because I needed the internet and satellite internet cost way too much in my area. I really really miss Direct TV--I only had one outage the whole time we had it and that was because we had a big snow storm and the snow covered the dish and I wasn't about to take these 60 year old bones up to a snow covered roof the remove the snow, lol. As soon as the snow melted we were fine. We have FIOS now and everyday there seems to be some sort of problem...

We have had cable since 1985 - no problems, no complaints - we have Comcast! On hand 24/7 - very nice, knowledgeable people. Like I always say - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." So we haven't! Maybe some day we will, but not today! Edie

Where I live we do not have cable, only dish or directv is available. We have had both, but like dish a lot better. We have have had it over 15 years. I guess you can say, we did luck out never getting cable.

We had the same problems!!! I have never had so much animosity for a company in my life. They were rude, nasty, and lied to us on more than one occasion. Their service was the worst I have ever seen out of anyone. One time they told us to climb up on our roof (3 floors up) and clean the snow off of the dish (in August) when we kept losing the signal. We were so disgusted with them that we paid the early disconnect fee and got rid of them.
