If you weren't trying to buy a bunch, I would definitely inquire. Maybe they've changed the rules and go by telephone numbers or something. If you really need sudafed, which is a wonderful decongestant, I'd suggest going to CVS or Walmart or even your local grocery store. You should be fine if you only need it for the occasional cold and are buying consumer-sized portions. Try some vitamin C too. That's stuff's still legal!
I am a pharmacy tech at the hospital here. I believe they are now having you sign a log every time you buy it to keep track, because people that do the meth will just buy a few boxes at this store then go on to the next one. But they should be able to show you a copy of the log, and to compare the writing to see if this is the same person.

The store has to have some sort of record with your name on it in order to tell you this info.
They have to put it into a data base. That way, a person cannot go to store after store and buy more. I had to give her my license number to put in. She even double checked my ID number and I had to sign. She said she couldn't give me any more information than that and no contact number was available.

Did you lose your ID? I would ask for any paperwork, actually I would insist on it. Last time I had to buy Sudafed I was asked to furnish a picture ID and it had to be "valid" (current and up to date). If it is a store you frequent they should know you, at least be able to tell you look like your photo on your ID. Especially if you have a lot of prescriptions to fill on a regular basis. This is why I use only one pharmacy.

I haven't gotten a new ID in five years when my last one expired. Someone in the state has to be using my ID number. I haven't lost my driver's license, so I have no idea what is going on.

This seems very odd, I think I would look into it if I were you though.

Is there anyone with your same name? Here there is a lady with the same name and same birthday as my mom and she has twice been given her perscription and the lady even has the same doctor and the doctors office even pulled the wrong chart. She always has to check what adress they have listed. So that could be it too.

I would obtain a credit report. Contact the local PD and maybe the DMV and see what can be done about a possibly stolen ID number.

I called Walgreens. They could tell me nothing. So, I looked up the local DEA number and it is disconnected. I am going to ask the police officer that works at my school tomorrow if he can recommend who to contact. I also have a student who's father works for the DEA, so I will just have to wait until tomorrow to get to the bottom of this... hopefully.

I would chase it down as well. It is not fun when someone gets a hold of your data. There may be a simple solution/reason, but I'd want to be sure.

...as for the rude employee. Can you speak with the manager or complain to corporate? If that doesn't yield resolution, can you vote with your wallet and shop elsewhere?

That is strange, if they can tell you nothing then how is it they can not sell to you??
