I go to the chat room a lot and was in it recently when someone was asked to please change their font color. They either didn't see the request or ignored it, I don't know. I think some ppl like to type in a different color so that they can find what THEY typed as sometimes the room gets very busy and it's hard to keep up. Not that they shouldn't help a fellow board member see better by changing to a readable color.

If anyone in the chat room were to ask me, I'd happily do it. It's just color, why would anyone mind changing it?

The color they're talking about is the color your typing shows up as. When a person enters the chat room, their name has a color, but the text is black. Some people change the black to another color and I have been in the chat room when someone asked that everyone use black because of their vision.

My personal opinion is that if a person chooses one color when the chat room is busy, it helps differentiate them from other people in the chat room and is helpful. That being said, if someone has a vision problem, I can understand them wanting to have all text be the same color.

As long as we have the ability to change colors for our own typing in the chat room, I'm all for it. I would not like to see one person take away this privilege for the rest of us and hope it doesn't come down to that. I love the chat room!!!!

That's my two cents!

My mom always said "pick your battles". Take care of the big stuff and let the little stuff go.

Please :D:D:D Can we not let this topic go off in a bad direction? :D:D:D

Admin set up chat for us, and we are his guests there. If a member cannot read a certain color and requests that it not be used, can we not agree that is a reasonable request? After all, when Admin moved to this new software, didn't he bend over backwards to try and choose color schemes that worked for the majority of the board? He was very kind in accomodating member's vision issues with certain color schemes, and made numerous changes for us :D:D:D

I have been to the chat romm quite a few times and have enjoyed it. Sometimes I stay and chat, sometimes I do not. I have noticed the different colors and did not know that they could be changed. If I were asked to change, I would, but you would have to tell me how!

When that room is busy it is hard to keep up and the request could very well have been missed.

It appears to me that this will be a "can't please everyone topic"

The colors that folks have trouble with are light and bright colors. If you only offer deeper tones, people could still be different enough to tell apart easily, but not enough to be an issue.

There already is a button that lets you see the NAMES in black and white. Is this an option that could extend to the typed text? That is the best solution as I see it.

oh size of font can be a problem too at times. my hubby leaves the keyboard on Caps because he types in that in order to see better. i just say, find other "big" things to complain about.
