trivia: the first tv coule to sleep in the same bed were Herman and Lily Munster.
I too thought about JB Fletcher. who would want to be her friend, and Cabot Cove was a small town with big time murders. If you weren't a regular friend of hers, you died or a 'close friend' would do the killings.

How can they take their eyes off the road so long while they're driving? Why don't they finish their meals very often? lonnie, I read a lot of mystery series (they're making shows ofthem on the Hallmark Channel) and I wonder in these small towns if they haven't killed off the whole population. And how come the heroine who keeps finding the bodies isn't insane from the trauma.

People on screen very rarely finish a meal or drink because it would make the scene too long. They need to keep the action going.
Did you know, almost all the German officers (regulars) on Hogan's Heroes, were played by Jewish actors? When he was offered the Col. Klink role, Werner Klemperer only agreed to do it if the show's producers promised that Klink would never succeed in any of his schemes and that he would always wind up looking foolish.

Thinking back on Gilligan's Island, it's hard to believe the show enjoyed such success where the castaways would never get off the uncharted desert isle.
As a kid I always wanted to visit the Munsters. I never found their home scary, but rather, inviting. Big old houses have always drawn me in an captured my interest, and there was love in the Munster household.
Bewitched, was another I am still fond of. So homey and dream-like. As if time stood still, and I can think of so many others.
