I don't get upset, I just realize that there are a lot of uninformed people in the world.

Thats so true, and if you stop to notice- more people come to live in the south to retire- I don't see many moving north. And by the way, I have never owned anything but a dog. LOL

I lived in Las Vegas NV for 15 yrs. Talk about a place where people have misconceptions! I wish I had a nickle for every time someone said to me "Wow, I didn't realize people really lived here!" No, the casinos are run by people who are bussed in from CA, AZ & Utah and the rest of the city is run by robots! LOL Everyone thinks of Las Vegas as only being The Strip. Ironically, The Strip is not even in the city limits. I moved from Michigan to Texas in 1977 and couldn't get over the misconceptions the Texans had about people from the northern states too so it is really all over. I have found this to be the most prevalent among people who never travel more than 90 miles from their birth place in their entire life.

DH plays on-line games where the players can talk to each other. He was on-line with a guy that was from Austraila and they were commenting on each other's accent! That was just to funny.
Oh..and we like to go to the casino that is on Indian land here..that's how they are getting even with us. LOL We have a very large Indian population here and they are great people!
Hey..Google Oklahoma..we are a great state, along with all the other great states!

I lived and worked in Ohio for 12 years. One of the girls in my office was always coming to my desk and telling me jokes about WV . One day she said you don't get mad me telling you these jokes do you? I said NO, I just tell them to other people but use Ohio instead of WV. Never heard another joke.

When I was in Alaska last year, I was buying a penguin carving for my daughter and the lady (native) looked at me and seriously said " You know we don't have penguins in Alaska" It took me a minute to register that one. I wonder how many people had asked her where the penguins lived up there?

Colorado - Most people think it's freezing here in the winter, but it's not bad.

When a friend was applying to medical school, he was asked if they had electricity and indoor plumbing in the small town in which he lived. Dumb as a rock they were.
