Teacup, I have 2 kitties that pull my pins out of the pincushion...you are right, this is very inconvenient as I finally had to put the cushion in a drawer! No cacti so they haven't been exposed to this "chew toy" adventure!

My cats have not had an opportunity to get at a cactus, but they might be interested in it. I wonder, was that the first time with the cactus, or is this an everyday occurrance?

So funny. It looks like the left side of her face is in extreme pain and the right in heaven. Cats, can't live with them and can't live without them.

My male cat pulls the pins out of the pincushions, so finally stopped using them. I have them in an Altoids tin now. My two female cats don't do that, but he's the one who loves to be on my sewing table when I'm sewing.....so no more pincushions.

My maine coon kitten does the same! She pulls pins out of pin cushions, fabric, the magnitic holder, then carries it around in her mouth, before finally lying down to play with it.

I don't know if I was more horrified or terrified when I saw her do this. She is now banned from the sewing room, but does manage to sneak in (she's a very good sneak) sometimes. All my pins are now in drawers. I'm also villigent at retrieving dropped pins.

Luckily, I rarely use pins for quilting, but for garment sewing they are everywhere.
