Oh, but all the $$$$they made from the popularity has paid for repairs to that beautiful building that they could not have afforded before..so it is a two edged sword..

I binge watched it too to get caught up. Now I'm looking forward to Jan 3rd! There are quite a few you-tubes out there with the actors talking about their characters. Those were fun to watch and see how the people really look and talk. Mrs Hughes looks quite different in real life!

For all of you who binge-watched, did you notice that each season more of the exterior had been cleaned? The family used the money from the TV series to make that repair. Additionally, they have gotten many more visitors to the house because of the program, which is wonderful because the basement level has many of King Tut's grave objects in it. The man who sponsored archaeologist Carter's discovery of the tomb was an Earl of Carnarvon and kept his share of the treasures at the house. You can view the treasures also if you visit the house.

There was a special on a few days before the final Christmas episode (brilliant btw) called 'BAFTA celebrates Downton Abbey'. Not sure if you guys will be able to get it or not. (BAFTA = British Film and Telvision Awards).
There were a lot of behind the scenes information and interviews. Strange to see the actors out of costume, lol! No spoilers luckily.
