My son, in Pittsburgh, PA. thought that his very large dog was wagging his tail against the bed, that is until he got out of bed to see what happened. They were quite worried, especially being the fact of having a lot of after shocks.
Thank goodness no fatalities.

It must be my west coast upbringing, I'll take the earth shaking over hurricanes and tornadoes any day in the week. I've been in a little of all 3. I'm glad U can now say You've experienced it (not on the bucket list)and don't have to do another one. We are all glad it was an earthquake and not something man made .

We lived in Japan for 7 years. That was 35 years ago and I forgot how scarey they are. This one seemed so noisey. We are 90 miles north of Richmond. I swear my heart stopped. I am too old for this. Didn't feel the 4.2 aftershock though. Glad that there wasn't too much structural damage. The National Cathedral was damaged. Earth (the quake), wind (Irene's coming) and fire. Oh, Oh. Maybe the Mayans were right.

Daughter felt her building move in Manhattan! It wasn't as bad as the one her sister felt in 1989 at the Presidio in CA. Eldest and youngest have felt West Coast and East Coast earthquakes. I live within range of the New Madrid fault. We feel little ones more often than we like.

Seirously, earthquake yesterday & a high percentage of a tornado today. I'm not that happy about that.

Was about 2 min from my home when i felt it. Started as just a wigglein the truck then the harder shock made it feel like the tires were coming off. Pulled into the neighborhood everyone outside. Got home to check on my youngest. He was with the neighbor and dogs outside. We live in King George. Oldest was at the community college in Fredericksburg. The building sustained some damage, no one hurt. He was very excited about it being his first day at college but did say he wasn't sure if it was meant to be because it was kind of like divine intervention keeping him out of his favorite course English.
